BBC’s Ashes to Ashes Boosts Audi Sales

The popularity of the BBC’s Ashes to Ashes is said to have doubled the price of used Audi Quattros.

The iconic motor was produced between 1980 and 1991. It is now the chosen mode of transport for the shows lead character DCI Gene Hunt, and it seems scenes of the maverick cop speeding around London have caught the nation’s attention. But be warned: don’t expect the four-wheel drive Quattro to re-enact the show car’s lairy sideways action. According to the crew’s chief mechanic Guy Bostock, their Quattro stunt car has been heavily modified by the guys behind the Bond films, who have converted it to two-wheel drive. There are currently three used Audi Quattros for sale on Auto Trader, with prices starting at £6,000.
